Basic Purpose



To receive and distribute/route mail. To validate, index, assign, and route electronic documents. To operate the Telelift stations and mail mobile.Unusual Working Conditions: Work involves continuous standing, stretching, lifting, and reachingMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Ensures that mail is received and distributed timely and accurately.o Distributes/retrieves interoffice/external mail via the Telelift stations and Mailmobileo Using judgment and independence, researches member and account information, determines the type of document, type of account, owner business area, and special handlingo Sorts, date/time stamps, identifies, researches member and account information, labels, sorts/sub-sorts, and distributes/routes incoming mail to divisions/departments/branches/sections/individuals.o Special handles time- or recipient-sensitive mailo Receives, prepares, and sends member documents/special mailingso Charges, cleans, and maintains Mailmobileo Keeps current knowledge of the organizational structure to ensure the flow of communication is uninterruptedo Directs the distribution of monthly Board Reports and Human Resources communicationso Provides address information to the Social Security Administration and the Veteran's Administration2. Ensures that electronic documents are accurately validated, indexed, assigned, and routedo Performs quality control of scanned documentso Validates and indexes scanned documents or rejects for re-scanningo Using judgment and independence, researches member and account information, determines the type of document, type of account, owner business area, and special handling; stores or electronically routes member account documents for immediate access by other areas of the credit union3. Performs other related duties as assigned.Job LevelersLevel Io Ensures that scanned documents meet quality control standards and that the process is completed accurately and thoroughlyo With limited supervision, conducts research and uses judgment/independence to sort/route physical mail and validate, index, assign, and route electronic documentso Operates the Telelift and Mailmobile to distribute/retrieve interoffice/external mail todivision/department areas, including time- or recipient-sensitive mailo Uses available tools and information to determine employee locationso Charges, cleans, and maintains Mailmobileo Maintains current knowledge of the organizational structure to ensure the flow of communication is uninterruptedQUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Required Level I:o Administrative/technical work experience, preferably in a mail roomo Effective research and problem-solving skillso Ability to work independently, follow written/verbal instructions, and exercise sound judgment, logic, and initiativeo Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detailo Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillso Experience using PCs and word processing softwareDesired Level I:o Experience using scanning softwareo Ability to meet deadlines in a production environmento Working knowledge of the basic functions, organizational structure, and facilities at Navy FederalHours: Monday-Friday (flexible per business needs)9:30-6:00 PM
