Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Quality Lab Technician to be located in Pensacola, FL. Under the supervision of the Quality Customer Focus Specialist, the Quality Lab Technician is responsible for participating in and executing assigned plant quality systems and laboratory functions, such as testing and analysis of raw materials and ceiling products.
*Key Responsibilities of the Quality Lab Technician:*
* Performing and maintaining the Fireguard containment process
* Performing and maintaining UL compliance audits
* Assisting with IPQA/PLIA compliance testing
* Assisting with product Trend Review audits
* Performing the Morning Board review process at the finishing lines
* Performing and maintaining Gauge Tracking System certification, repair processes and record maintenance
* Maintaining production testing equipment used for quality checks involving calibration, repairing and tracking
* Coordinating and shipping all quality-related test materials including completion and submission all the necessary paperwork
* Performing raw material testing as assigned
* Tracking and performing Certificate of Analysis (COA) data entry
* Assisting with plant project work involving production run trails
* Assisting with training production operators in understanding quality procedures when needed
* Perform routine laboratory housekeeping
* Some overtime, including weekends, may be required
*Required Qualifications for the Quality Lab Technician:*
* High school diploma or GED
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Internet Explorer
* Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift a minimum of up to 50 lbs.
* Standing, bending, reaching, climbing and lifting.
*Desired Qualifications for the Quality Lab Technician:*
* College coursework in Chemistry or Engineering
* Forklift certification
* Prior quality process experience in a manufacturing environment

Our Pensacola Plant, one of six Armstrong ceiling plants, employs approximately 280 people working on rotating shifts, 24/7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers worldwide.
